How To Make Beads Using Paper Bead Roller

By Jessica Barnes

When it comes to creativity, there are no bounds to it and people can explore a lot of ways to express art and making of jewellery beads. Using Paper Bead Roller is one of the methods used during this practice of doing it yourself or DIY. This is a very eco-friendly and waste management method that limits unwanted waste papers from lending on the environment and are used for good.

This is a craft that does not require one to have a particular book acquired skill but does require mostly a good eye, a creative open mind and raw talent for perfect execution. To venture into this practice one can use an already manufactured bead roller or they can also apply DIY and create their own pill roller into their style of preference.

The first step is very easy but most crucial as it is the deciding phase of the type of jewelry you wish to make and hence it is here you cut and trim the papers into the shape you desire your item to possess. At this very first stage is where you also consider the shape and the pattern your item should have and hence cut all the papers accordingly.

The next step is to now start the rolling and first to be placed on the pill roller is the wide side and slowly the rolling progresses. This is a process that should be conducted with no hurry as it is here if one is not careful enough they can ruin the entire thing. These are very light materials and hence one should be really tender with them.

When the rolling has begun, maintain a tight grip as you place the wrapper around the roller and gently but firmly twist the roller while your fingers have a tight grip on the paper. While almost at the near end, loosen the grip and adjust the wrapper into the desired look and ensure that there are no forced bumps that are visible on the beads.

With the paper having acquired the shape desired, it is best to speed the process and make more of the beads but it is not to be done in a rush and carelessly. It is time to apply glue on the remaining piece so as to close the pellet and too much glue should not be applied and also too little of it should not be applied.

At this stage the work is almost all done as the final stages will mainly involve reaching a fine end product and developing a pleasing and presentable final product. Finishing takes up most of the time as it is here the glue has to be well leveled and all ends should be fine. It is advised to apply a final thin layer on the bead for durability.

This, as said earlier is not a by rule project to do but one that requires creativity alone. After finishing all of the processes one can even opt to use a desired colour on the jewels to finish then fully and give them a beautiful appearance.
